The Power Of Words

The Power Of Words

Matthew 18:18

I tell you the truth, whatever you forbid on earth will be forbidden in heaven, and whatever you permit on earth will be permitted in heaven.

                              -NLT

Someone told me few years ago that you control your life with the words that comes out from your mouth, and whatever you wish yourself or say to yourself will be your reality.

She explained how the power of her words molded her life : when she was much younger she admired a young woman because of the way she dresses and her charisma. She concluded in her mind that she would love to be like this woman. Knowingly or unknowingly this became her prayer point, she even became friends with this young woman’s sister so that she could know her role model better.

Forward to some years later she found herself in the shoes of the young woman it dawned on her that she wished herself a really bad thing. She literally became a slave to her age mates. Well, she was not happy where she was and it took a lot of prayers and saying better words to herself before her story changed.

Be mindful of the words you say!

  How powerful are your words?

In the beginning of creation the Word already existed, the Word was with God and the Word was God. The word is the source of life and this life brought light to humanity. God created us in His own image and likeness and gave us dominion over every other thing He created, we have the power to speak whatever we want into existence.

It cannot be overemphasized that the  power of words control our lives. Many miracles were recorded in the Bible by words spoken with faith.

From my own experience, I always repeat a phrase that I CANNOT FAIL! Since that is God promise for His children.

Early last year I had ‘F’ in a particular course, truth be told I was really devastated and depressed.

Different thoughts crossed my mind. One thing that kept ringing was look at you that said you cannot fail, you’ve failed.

The few friends I told kept encouraging me. Be around people that speak higher than you when you are going through difficult situations. I still kept saying I cannot fail, I made a statement that if this ‘F’ can be changed into a ‘D’ or ‘C‘ I would be happy.

To cut the long story short, when all hope was gone and it looked like I have to register the course again, God came through and the ‘F’ was turned into a ‘C’ it could only have been God that made it possible.

Whatever we request from God with the words from our mouth will be granted to us. If I had wished or prayed for a distinction, I would have gotten it.

All you need to is Believe and all your requests will be granted.  Now my upgraded affirmation is I cannot fail, I succeed exceedingly in all areas of my life!

What are the words coming out from your mouth?

The Bible says the power of life and death is in your mouth. Its neither in your legs or your hands. The words you speak can either make you or mare you. You have to speak into existence whatever you want to happen to you. I have heard a lot of people say some situation always reoccur in their family. For instance, at a certain age they get sick or they have to suffer a lot before they make it in life and so on. So many presumptions that they turn into their affirmation. If things are like that in your family and you already know you can turn the situation around with the words from your mouth. Why can’t you change and decide not to go in this same cycle.

You’re the best prophet over your life! No one can prophesy over your life better than you can. Prophesy good things into your life.

If you desire to be successful, speak it into existence. You want to be free from addictions, say it with your mouth. Good relationships, confess it. There is a particular situation you don’t like, change it with your words. God has given us the power to ask for whatever we want and He will sure do it for us.

Do my words affect people around me?

The Bible describe the tongue as a fire that can set a whole house ablaze. The words you say to people matters a lot. Relationships have been broken, contracts have been made, friendship have been restored by words that come out from the mouth. Some people even curse other people Don’t assist the devil by speaking evil words! Be a soul lifter, and not a nay sayer.

What have you said over your life, is it good or bad? If it is bad you can start today by confessing good things. If it is good, continue. No matter the situation in your life, say positive words always. Don’t speak over your life with low self esteem. You’re created in God’s likeness, you can speak life into dead situations. The power oof words are important in molding your life.

Your best days are in front of you and all things will work together for your good.
